Cake time!

Work has kept me very busy lately, but last month I had a request for a cake order for this weekend.  I haven't made a cake in a long time so I was thrilled to say yes!

This was for a friend of mine's little boy's 8th Birthday.

 

When my friend asked me to make this cake I immediately went to google.com and searched for ''fire truck cake'' and came upon this link HERE.

I didn't really like the smooth iced look so I opted for the star tip technique.

 

I wasn't sure how many kids/people would be at the party so we decided to make cupcakes to go with the cake.
 

I put half yellow/ half orange icing in a bag to get the swirl effect.  The toppers are made from candy melts. I printed a couple of flames and traced them onto waxed paper. 

I'm not so sure about this one...

It seems a little ''busy'' to me.

But this one, I love.

I CASED it from one I saw online, not sure where. :(

I haven't posted in a LONG time...

Work has dominated most of my time, then when I'm not at work I want to spend time with my family...

Well tonight I needed some much needed crafting time...
I have never tried the paper peircing (?) so I'm not so sure about this one.

Yay for Christmas cards!

Sandy from OWH posted a picture of her card the other day and I just HAD to try to make one! 

I just love snow people and this just shouted at me to make one.

I also love how everyone's cards turn out so different.

There is a video HERE that shows how to make the cutest lil trees!  A friend of mine and I made a whole bunch after seeing the video!  haha  I hope you like it. (of course it HAD to have snow people!  lol)

This one isn't Christmas, but My daughter helped me work on some cards by coloring some images of lil hedgehogs.  This is the card that I made with the images.  Sketch # 33 at OWH Stars and Stamps
